ASKO Dishwasher Power Cord Fire Recall 2019 | CPSC 19-210

The ASKO dishwasher power cord recall (CPSC Recall 19-210) was announced on September 26, 2019, by the Gorenje Group (then owner of ASKO Appliances) in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada. The recall covers approximately 26,600 units sold in the United States and 4,300 units sold in Canada. Note: this is a platform-level recall affecting ASKO-branded dishwashers; Bertazzoni-branded dishwashers are manufactured in Guastalla, Italy and are not directly named in this recall. Bertazzoni owners should verify their model numbers against the list below.

Hazard

The power cord supplied with the affected dishwashers can overheat at the wall connection point, posing a fire hazard. ASKO North America received 53 reports of power cord overheating prior to the recall announcement. No property damage or injuries had been reported at the time of the recall.

How to identify

The model number and serial number are printed on a label inside the dishwasher door frame, visible when the door is opened. Compare the model number against the 14 affected models listed above. For each model, ASKO published specific serial number ranges — contact ASKO directly with your serial number to confirm inclusion. The recalled units are approximately 24 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 32 to 35 inches tall, with stainless steel or customizable panel fronts.

  1. Stop using the dishwasher immediately and turn off power at the circuit breaker
